Optics
I was able to get my new dissipator upper to the range for a function test and initial sight in. The rifle ran well, I was able to get it sighted in without any difficulty, but I was reminded about the limitations of my vision with iron sights. So, any optics recommendations? At one time I had an Eo...

Re: shocked
Hello and welcome to the site! If you have never had an AR before I think it is wise to go with something like the S&W. I have seen multiple positive reviews of said rifle and I am sure that it would serve you well. Once you have it here is my recommendation for what's next-- get ammo and magazi...

Re: Don't tell Bob...
I promise that he won't hear it from me. I sold a Mossberg 590 to a good friend several years ago leaving me shotgunless (sorta). I have an old Remington 1900 SxS that belonged to my great-grandfather. Technically it still works but its age (112, based on serial number) and condition preclude me eve...

Re: Top FIVE Prepper Gray Man Failures!
First off, not everyone who does these things is necessarily a "prepper." The video also begs for a definition of who or what a prepper is. I know people who have the stickers on vehicles but they would not be considered people who prep for emergencies much less have any concept of what be...

Re: Newest gun or latest upgrade
The Dissipator upper arrived today. It is now joined with a completed lower. I will probably go to a local indoor range on Wednesday to function test it and do a quick zero at 25 yards. Right now it'll be wearing irons-- a detachable carry handle as a matter of fact.

Re: Batteries - what you need to know
Thanks guys! The specs on the flashlight state that 2 CR123s are ok in the light. I have another light that takes 2 CR123s. So, bottom line, there is a power difference between 1 18650 and 2 CR123s along with a size/diameter difference. I appreciate the answers; I am trying to exercise the old advis...

Re: Batteries - what you need to know
The light I have is a Rofis R3. The light came with a battery, so I have no immediate worries re: its being the right battery, and the specs say I can use 2 CR123s in its place. The light has a moon setting that is probably about .5 lumens, low is at 20 lumens-- enough to move around the house if th...

Re: Batteries - what you need to know
Thanks! So, here's my followup question: do these batteries work best for recharging and longevity when fully depleted then fully recharged or does it matter?

Re: Batteries - what you need to know
I just got a light that uses an 18650 battery. How long will those batteries hold a charge if not used? What would be an average life expectancy for the battery before it would need to be replaced?
