Re: What could your EDC/GEB do for you if needed?

My normal EDC sling bag is my Maxpedition Lunada. https://live.staticflickr.com/550/31767008970_c56f304bac_z.jpg This is an example of what it can easily hold. It's an older picture and many of the contents have changed over time. Some of the standard items that have remained; IFAK - including a st...

Re: What could your EDC/GEB do for you if needed?

My EDC and GHB are two separate kits. EDC is what I have on me at all times. Flash light. 1-2 knives. Cell phone. FA. Multi tool. Keys. Net Scout. laptop. Atwood tool. Anything else and I feel like I have a boat anchor in my pants. :D GHB is a lot more complicated and requires something that has 2 v...

New skills for this year.

So along with a few other things I am doing on the side in trying to keep my mind sharp and wits about me I have decided to put things down that I am going to do. This year in learning I am going to do the following. Learn more 3D design for my 3D printer.(Possible minor source of income.) Get my Li...

Re: Sensible Prepper

Ok, not to make everyone mad, but I liked most of his vids for the first year or so that I watched them. He has ok content at this point. When he started being a sales person and as an example when Olights go on sale. He is one of the first to drop vids on it. I know everyone has to make a living. T...

Re: Ferro rods (and magnesium bars/rods)

I like the magnesium bars. I did a bunch of shavings off in to a masking tape small bundle (about and in in diameter and 1/8th to 1/4th inch thick) that I kept with my ferro rod. Just in case. Well I made a few of them after testing it when I was living in Western Oregon. Now I keep 4-5 of them in a...

Re: Smallest caliber you'd feel comfortable carrying?

Yeah, if I am carrying for self defense, I am going to stay with the 9mm as the smallest. Unless they figure out how to pump up the 5.7 about 600 more FPS than what they are then I might go back and revisit that. Right now the .380 is still behind and loading. It is having to be down loaded because ...

Re: Situational awareness improvement made easier

3. and here is a simple drill. Humans are designed to see movement. They are not designed to see things that are still (even if it is a human being). Dogs are designed to see he same way - that is why a person is admonished to stand still - absent scent- a dog will not know that you are there. Nega...

Re: Smallest caliber you'd feel comfortable carrying?

Oh gawd don't get me started on the .25 ACP.... I would rather see someone carry a .22 LR than a .25. I would even donate to hire a necromancer to call from the dead whom ever came up with the .25 ACP so we could shoot him again, I am sure that is how he ran in to his demise. My father use to say. &...

Re: Sig

Been thinking about the P365XL. A buddy of mine had one and I got the chance to handle it during the required after shift show-n-tell. Felt great and I couldn’t find a drawback on it. The mag compatibility is nice too. I have been considering it as well. Downside if you put a RDS on it the smaller ...

I am one of those that do not like Glock. I own 2 for convince sake, and possible trade bait.

As far as SHTF, I have to ask is it a grab what fits in the Jeep and go or am I at my safer than home location?
