Re: Smallest caliber you'd feel comfortable carrying?

Please give us a range report. I am interested, just don't have the finances right now as the tax man wants his cut of what I earned.

I just had 9 inches of fresh snow overnight. So ranges day may have been pushed back a few days.

Re: Woods carry

Well I am of the mind that most times on the out doors a .22 pistol or rifle is all that you need. Then I remember I live in one of the few states where Humans are not at the top of the food chain.

I still only carry a 22 when out in the woods.

Re: HK Thread

I like to also put out there for those that are looking in to different brands and what have you. You, David, have seen through the BS smoke out there. The .40 it can be had for a steel of a deal these days because gun shops are telling people that no one is using it and it is going to go away. When...

Re: Hammer-fired vs. Striker-fired

I like wheel guns. the Triggers on the 70's-80's from the factory guns of Smith and Wesson, Colt, Dan Wesson can not be beat. Yes they all have good examples and bad.

Now the CZ Shadow 2 is also one amazing firearm.

Re: Carrying a modified gun

On carrying a modified gun. Go for it. There has yet to be a case that was lost due to a "Modified Gun" that was too dangerous/deadly/ect... You hear it all the time that the opposing counsel will have a field day with it. Like the former LEO above commented. Not an issue. Modified to make...

Re: Affordable survival items

For $250 you can get a Walther Creed, or Canik. Both IMO are better than the price point would indicate. I absolutely agree! The Canik for example seems to be a pretty good platform. I've never owned or shot one, but I've a couple of Deputies on my squad that are also big gunnies that speak very hi...

Re: Ferro rods (and magnesium bars/rods)

OK on that last one, I have to call a little bit of BS. He really doesn't use the fero rod much or was trying to make it look like there is a difference. He was so directing first one so the sparks went over his tinder pile. the second one he was directing them in to it. It is not easy as it looks a...

Link to vortex's site with all the stats?

Price?

I had one and sold it off as I thought that I would never need it. Now I have a rifle that needs something in that range.

Here is a condenced version of what is said. "In the cases DeShaney vs. Winnebago and Town of Castle Rock vs. Gonzales, the supreme court has ruled that police agencies are not obligated to provide protection of citizens. In other words, police are well within their rights to pick and choose wh...
